Dragonflies

There are more than 5000 described species of Dragonflies worldwide! In North America, we have over 450. Dragonflies come in all different colors but all have transparent wings. The adults don't bite or sting. Dragonflies have been a decorative addition to needlework and crafts throughout the ages. In Japan they represent courage, strength and happiness.
Because you aren't limited to any particular colors, these beauties can be stitched in any colors you like. They are perfect for experimenting with metallic and iridescent threads. Some projects might be a lap quilt, an elegant jacket with one done in metallics, scattered across a tablecloth or added to a big flower for a handbag.
