" Just a litle bit of info on this quilt. I planned to use TeddyBears & I wanted some that had a bit of Character & were a bit away from the norm. I purchased a few sets from A Country Church Mouse and also used a lot of freebies in my stash. I then worked all the layouts for each block in my software............... each block has a certain theme with bears at play or work the idea was you could make up your own story just by looking at the blocks. My youngest GD is 81/2 Mths old & is just starting to take notice of the embroidery on blocks she sits there and talks to the Teddy's on her Quilt her Mum says she's so cute when she dose it. Entry 18 - Carolyn Wilkinson

"I made the purse from a pair of red jeans that was headed to the dump after a yard sale which they didn't sale. The lining is made with Red Chili Peppers print. The zipper was taken from a baby's PJs that also was headed to the dump. The handle was made by taking the parts cut off from the legs and covering a Karate belt and sewing it on to the Jeans. The turtle design of an "Artist Painting a Canvas" was a free design from Ann the Gran's, and the Initials are those built into the PE150, both are done in Sulky's 24 karate gold thread. All the pockets are open and usable and the pants' zipper opens where you have an extra hiding place in between the outside of the jeans and the lining. The tassel is out of the drapery department at Walmart. I use it everyday and it's not empty, I weigh it one day and it weighed 12 pounds with all the junk in it. "

Entry 19 - Wanda Irby

"I made the dress & embroideried it for a school function."

Entry 20 - Jean Lloyd

"I have enjoyed making these, they are machine applique and embroidered Santa's. The designs were purchased from A Bit Of Stitch on Secrets Of website."

Entry 21 - Rosemarie A

"I just recently made a purse (my first ever purse including the technique was a first). My best friends DD was turning 30 and feeling a little frumpy since she has been a sahm and doesn't get out much. So I wanted to make her something to make her feel sassy. She absolutely adored it and even more so since I made it especially for her.
I saw this technique on simply quilts and just had to purchase the book. Although the only thing I used the book for was the dimensions of the purse. The rest I adlibbed and just went with the flow. This was so much fun since I could do what moved me and didn't have to follow strict guidelines. LOL
I used so many different fabrics to create this purse including cottons, satin, silk, lame',velour, faux fur. The book that was my inspiration was "Crazy Quilting with Attitude" by Barbara Randles. I embroidered her name on the bag as well as her 3 kids names and her DH name scattered around the bag on different patches"

Entry 22 - Carol Reahard

"I made the dresses and did the embroidery. The
flowers around the bottom are 3d pansies purchased
designs from elsa's website. The flat embroidery was
also from Elsa's pansy collection. The dresses are
based on a Vogue pattern. I modified the pattern and
the scolloped hem."

Entry 23 - Corkie Wolfe - 6th Place

"This is a wall hanging made to look like a bookcase. The two clowns, watch, and teddy were embroidered, then sewn on. For the two light books on the top shelf, I used fabric autographed by Debbie Mumm at a book signing, the ivy and hydrangea petals were done with steam a seam, then individually attached. The photos in the bottom right are my husband and me at our wedding, then again 35 years later. This is the most fun project I've ever done.
"

for Christmas. I got the designs from AnntheGran and
some other free sites. Can't remember there names.

making it and plan on making a couple more.."

Entry 33 - Marion Terry - 8th Place

"I am enclosing a photo of the 24-inch pillow top that I made for my oldest grandson & his wife. I gave it to them for Christmas this year in celebration of their wedding in June of last year. It was quite a task for me as I haven't sewn anything like that before--challenging but interesting. It involved printing & resizing some of their wedding & reception photos and putting them on fabric prepared for the inkjet printer. I did this with the Double Wedding Ring design then also put a design in the center that I ordered from Embroidery Online. ."

Entry 34 - Liesbeth

"On December 31 last my youngest sister (re)married. I asked her daughter (Afke, 11 years old) to make a drawing; I think she can draw very well. My sister likes cats and my new brother in law likes eagles (he has a motorbike; that seems to go "together").
I digitized (I'm NO good at that) both animals and used a downloaded applique heart. Afke (who has never used a needle and thread) sew the buttons on a piece of fabric, being rocks, which I appliqued on "my" fabric.

From this I made a cover for a photo album in which they can glue their wedding pictures."

Entry 35 - Kathy Kamrath

Entry 41 - Alice Joinides

"I made a jumper, blouse and jacket. Used mostly stash fabrics and had a great time doing this. This was before my D-1 with embroidery capabilities, but I did have a great Bernina with lots of embroidery stitches on it so used that to outline each block. I pieced everything on muslin. Did some paper pieced blocks on the bodice of the jumper. Also made the bias binding and the chinese knot buttons. I loved making this so much that I made another one in shades of purple. That has a bit more embroidery on it but I don't have a picture right now - and have to obey the rules of one entry per person:-))."

Entry 42 - Susan Sullivan

"This is my patriotic windowpane shirt. Most of the designs are from the "United We Stand" Bernina collection with others from various websites. I work at a VA hospital and always receive nice comments when I wear the shirt to work."

"Crazy Quilt Potpourri" was First Place winner in County Fair - entered in Mixed Techniques (pieced, appliqué, emb, stipple, etc.. Crazy quilt blocks are embellished with additional emb, appliqué, and lace - alternated with emb redwork blocks (background of redwork blocks are all stipple quilted. Bible verse from III John 1:4 is center block. I used Eleanor Burns technique in Attic Treasures to piece crazy quilt blocks. A variety of freebie emb designs - as well as designs from Elsa's angels, Janet Shirah redwork, and Criswell lace angel was used.."

Entry 44 - Elinor M.

"This is just one of the crazy patchwork stockings that I have made for all 12 of my grandchildren. They are very time consuming and most of the fabrics are velvet, satin, rayon, and different colors of lame. I used 3 designs that were free on the web. Sorry I can't come up with where they came from. Maybe someone will recognize them. I used a paper the shape of the stocking only larger and sewed the fabrics together until it filled the paper. I embroidered the designs before sewing them. Sewed different charms, embroidered fancy stitches on the seams or used a braid or ribbon. Used red velvet for the back. Lined them with a white polyester lining after embroidering the name of the child, date and made by grandmother on the lining. After sewing it together and turning it I hand sewed a string of gold beads around the outside and put 4 different colors of ribbon streamers on to hang it up. These are really showy as the picture do not do it justice'"

Entry 45 - Sandra Repsher - 10th Place

" I have a Rose+ and I am a beginer

This is a sewing machine cover I made.."

Entry 46 - Patricia Driscoll

"I crocheted several items, namely the heart and basket (of silk ribbon flowers) on the front and also the fan and heart on the back. I've used machine embroidery, hand embroidery, silk ribbon embroidery, beading, stuffed work, and beaded lace.
I was mainly playing with the machine embroideries, having lots of fun with the threads and had so many pieces that I thought I should do something constructive with them.."

Entry 47 - Hoa Ngyuen

pieced in varies red tones with applique fans that I have beaded. The
embroideries are from Amazing Designs."

Entry 50 - Robin Brown

"I need something very special for one of my best friends '50th' birthday so I wanted to combine things she loves. I used the Gold Finch from http://www.tashambra.sewembroider.com/Malex.htm and more state birds at http://www.tashambra.sewembroider.com/archive_state_birds.htm and sunflower fabric with the green to offset, all of which are some of Barb's favorite things. She loved her present and embellished it further by adding a ribbon on each end of the bar and rafia to hang it from. I also have a picture of the detail of the birds, they are amazing stitched out. I really enjoyed being able to make this for my friend.
