From Ugly Duckling to Elegant Swan

"From ugly duckling - to elegant (beautiful) swan!

"Born and raised in Denmark, I grew up on the HC Andersen's fairy tales, have loved them all my life - as an adult I am captivated by the many layers his brilliant penmanship contained.

Last here in my struggle for a given lifesaving treatment, a person came with an offhand comment, and merged HC Andersen's fairy tale into the conversation - I was immediately reminded of The Ugly Duckling ! - and became completely silent in recognition of how accurate this old fairy tale actually fit my situation! - and many others who want this treatment - TODAY ! Many many years after it is written!

I of course had to read the fairy tale - and of course the little ugly ducklings started to run around in my head - along with the adult swan attributes - strength, courage, dignity! About new year 2012 I began to test my fingers again - after many years of illness, I found they had been stronger - and today the ducklings have become a bigger bunch!

The colour palette; of course from white to shades of gray and then I've added blue - symbolizing air - oxygen!

Design series comprises ducklings - quite small to the large good-sized swan in defense posture, protecting one Little ugly duckling.

Some of them are added to a large amount of humor, a little "blink in the eye"

I was very honored when Susan Makalinaw asked if she could turn them into embroidery designs! - and we hereby send them in "free flights" in the humble hope you will like them!.

I love what she has done to them! Susan (being an artist herself) has a tremendous feeling for what is expressed and felt, when creating a composition. Thank you!
