Very realistic butterflies for a fun handbag! I made my bag in dark navy denim and white and black ticking denim, It is very easy to put together and you get full instructions. It comes with both QIH designs for the front pocket and regular designs if you would prefer to make your own pattern. The front and back pockets are optional, but they add so much room to put things. The instructions show you how to add stiff interfacing to the gusset to easily give the bag a lot of shape. The strap around the bag is optional, but it gives a nice designer touch.
The butterflies can of course be used on other projects. And you could use the front pocket done as Quilt in the Hoop to make very interesting place mats. Put two together for a table centerpiece.

When I saw Fred stitching these designs I thought how beautiful and unique they are! At most 3 colors, they are fast stitching and appropriate for all kinds of projects. Add them to a quilt with some flowers, decorate clothing for kids and big kids, make a set of new table linens - or combine them with pretty colored fabrics to make a wall hanging to greet friends as they come in your door.

Use these designs as Quilt in the Hoop Blocks, or eliminate the border and use them as accent designs on any project. I can picture a quilt made with bird prints, various solid coordinating colors and the designs stitched in one of the main colors in the fabrics. Or stitch them in medium blue without the borders on a sheer summer curtain.

I've always loved the look of variegated thread on the spool but haven't always happy with the stitched results. I have developed some techniques to minimize and soften the banding. The results are amazing! For example the third butterfly below uses just one variegated thread yet it looks like intricate shading has been used.

This beautiful butterfly will make a real statement wherever you use him! I fused him to a piece of fabric for the wall hanging and added some pretty trim. He would also make a great center for a quilt of butterflies. You can use the set, Three Butterflies with him.
The wall hanging shown uses the medium designs and the embroidery is 14.7 inches across. The large is 17.7 inches across and the jumbo is 23.4 inches across.

With each Fairy block you receive the designs, templates for appliqué for the background of the designs, templates for placement and full instructions to finish the blocks as shown. The quilt will be made in the *Quilt as you go method* so once each block is complete, the quilting is complete also. You also receive a complete materials list with the fabrics I used and how many blocks can be used for different sized quilts.
You can embroider the blocks as shown or combine designs from different blocks. You can also use these designs to make pictures, to combine with other designs or use as accent designs on linens and clothing.

Glorious butterflies gathering the final abundance of Fall. In addition to making a picture, you could make a pair of pillow by stitching the top 4 squares for one and the lower 4 for the other. Border them with some yellow or red batik and add a black binding or piping. They could also go on the front of a tote with bright fabrics bordering them and making the sides and back. Or put them on all black for a dramatic effect.
The medium size project, 10x15 inches and the large would be 12x18 inches and the small would be 8x12 inches.

These 3D Butterflies have an 8 inch wingspan. They are designed to use hot fix crystal accents, though crystals are optional. The butterflies can be used in combination with your 3D flowers, as they are shown here with the Lace Sculpture - Rose, by themselves, hung in windows, added to a houseplant, decorating a Christmas tree. You will receive full instructions - they go together quite easily! You can also use variegated or metallic thread for more variations.

These designs can be used as Sun Catchers as shown. They are much more translucent than the photos indicate as we couldn't find much sun that day! They would also make great coasters for a summer party. You get the Sun Catchers with designs and also a blank one that you can use to add your own designs. In addition, each freestanding design has a matching fabric design. The blank stained glass pattern has a version to stitch on fabric that you can use as a frame to many of your designs. There are a total of 13 designs in this set including both the Freestanding and Fabric designs for each of the Sun Catchers. Chinese Butterflies are highly stylized and yet somehow look like they're ready to fly right off the fabric. The butterfly is a very common theme in Chinese brocades and decorations. I think it's delicate, somewhat elusive nature with it's *shimmery* gossamer wings is what fascinates many of us. These butterflies coordinate with the Lace Bowl & Doily - Chinese Butterflies Because many of these butterflies use a blended thread technique which is rather sheer, they would be perfect for metallic threads.
