You’ll be surprised how easily this bag goes together! The key is in following the steps below in the exact order described. This is the same bag as BFC1148 Wild Roses Handbag and the BFC1270 A Touch of Red Handbag. I have included the instructions for several different types of pockets. The pictures show the lining front and back not assembled so you can see the pockets better.
Because both our Wild rose and our BFC1270 A Touch of Red Handbag have been so popular I wanted to add another option to the collection!
This set is done a little differently than others I've done so PLEASE read the descriptions befow carefully so you can choose the correct option.

Tropical Flowers and leaves are always in style. The bag is compact and very roomy inside. You get instructions for a medium size and a large size bag. These designs would also look great on pillows.

Lady's Portraits on Handbags are very popular now. And Art Deco seems to always be in style. In addition to a handbag this lady can grace any jacket or shirt back or make a beautiful framed picture for that special place. You will receive instructions and a pattern for the Handbag. Please read the Select size options carefully!
Auxiliary Designs: These are the smaller lady's face in two ways and the gold and blue decorations that can be used for the bag of the bag or maybe a pocket or a very graceful decoration on a white blouse! (or linens of any kind) You can use the portrait without the gold background to decorate with other materials for a mixed media project.

I made my bag softer and more *slouchy*. You could also use firm interfacing to make a more structured bag. It has many pockets inside, a pocket on the gusset and a large back pocket. I made my strap long enough to wear across my body, but you can choose any size. The sunflower and butterfly design can of course be used in many projects other than handbags!
The sizes of the finished bag are as follows:
Medium 9.0” wide x 9.5” high x 5” deep
Large 13.5” wide x 11.0” high x 5” deep
Jumbo 15.5” wide x 15.00” high x 5” deep

You can make lots more than Handbags from these designs! Try Pillows, Table covers or Runners, Clothing, Wall hangings, even a quilt! I’ve included some ideas for arrangements in the last three images before the free design. You will receive full instructions and a Template to make the Handbag as shown. I've used a little metallic thread, but the instructions give you the alternate Poly thread also.

Eyes are always fascinating! And they make great decorations for clothing, handbags, quilts or wall hangings. I've had fun with one of them to make this little bag (8" x 10") Instructions and pattern included along with patterns for a Large and Jumbo Size. I made a gathered bottom so the purse would be more like a pouch, but the pattern has either this, a straight bottom or a curved bottom. Try a single eye design with some soft chiffon draped like a scarf. Decorate any of the designs with crystals and beads.

Very realistic butterflies for a fun handbag! I made my bag in dark navy denim and white and black ticking denim, It is very easy to put together and you get full instructions. It comes with both QIH designs for the front pocket and regular designs if you would prefer to make your own pattern. The front and back pockets are optional, but they add so much room to put things. The instructions show you how to add stiff interfacing to the gusset to easily give the bag a lot of shape. The strap around the bag is optional, but it gives a nice designer touch.
The butterflies can of course be used on other projects. And you could use the front pocket done as Quilt in the Hoop to make very interesting place mats. Put two together for a table centerpiece.

Sheer designs and lots of options for personalizing this bag make it a real winner! I quilted my fabric for the sides and top band, but you can use contrasting fabrics. Use different fabrics for the flower blocks too. The cosmetic bag is vinyl lined and the Coin Purse and Eyeglass Case stitch up quickly. Add as much bling as you want! I put hot fix crystal on the flowers and all over the quilted sections. The zipper opens wide so you can easily get inside. Fully lined with pockets. Comes in 4x4, 5x7 and 6x10.

I use my extra handbags all over to hold things that haven't found a permanent home yet. Rick suggested I make some small ones to hang near the work areas or sit on the table or desk. You receive 4 different bag patterns each in 3 sizes (all sizes included in each purchase) and 6 designs from small to large to use with them. Complete instructions included! In addition to holding useful necessities, use them for some dried flowers, potpourri or a handy pad and pencil! An example of how i am using one of the small totes - I often do hand sewing at my desk and have to go gather up what I need. I will put various threads, needles and small scissors in one so it is right here when I need, but easily can be brought elsewhere.

A fun bag with a large pocket on the back and a recessed zipper that opens really wide. This is basically the same bag as the Hummingbird and Hibiscus Handbag. You can stitch your designs on different fabrics as shown or choose a favorite color and fabric for the whole bag. I experimented with Kraftex - a paper that can be sewn, washed and dried, for the decorative strips. It is so easy to work with! This bag is really a cross between a Tote Bag and a Handbag. The great feature is the recessed zipper that allows you to open the bag completely and really get to the important *stuff* inside! Also there is no lining up of designs! They are each stitched on a separate piece of fabric. I think you will be surprised how easy this bag is to make – especially the zipper. The style of this bag is a modified Hobo Bag. You can quilt it or not and use all one fabric or contrasting fabric as I did. I include all three size patterns with each size of the designs so you can choose how to make your bag. The embroidery on the front is made up of two designs and you will also receive it as one design for large hoops. The bag has a zipper and a lining with pockets. The back has a zippered pocket. I set out to make a Fall bag that opened wide, was fairly tailored looking and had lots of places to put things. (There are two large pockets on the outside of the bag, 6 pockets inside and 2 hidden pockets. I also wanted designs that had a modern touch. I think you will find this bag does all of this. The first 5 designs in each size are the combined designs I used for the front and back pockets of the bag. The rest of the designs are all the *parts* that went into making these combined designs. You can make your own arrangement with these designs or make something coordinating. I’m thinking of a vest with the combined designs along the bottom and the Blackwork designs scattered around the rest of the vest. Or make a sheer or pashmina scarf to go with your bag. None of the designs are dense so you have a lot of options. You also receive instructions to make the Eyeglass Case and the padded iPad case (it fits inside the bag). Instructions to change the size for a Kindle, Nook, Tablet or even a briefcase!

These designs are taken from some Vintage French Fashion Plates. You can use these ladies on many projects, but I thought they were perfect for a tote bag. The bag comes in three sizes and the ruffled trim is optional. What is a little different about this tote bag is the inside. There are two side pockets in the lining that have stiff interfacing. On the inside facing side of each pocket there are more pockets. There are also two stiff side pockets. And to finish the structure is a fabric covered stiff bag bottom. The inner stiff pockets keep the bag in shape and also keep the items in the smaller pockets from pulling the lining out of shape. Full instructions and templates included. This is the first project I have done with Reflectra® Stitchfoil. It is a lot of fun to use! Of course this bag can be done all with fabric and in lots of different color combinations. You will get full instructions to make the bag, to use the Stitchfoil if you wish and to make the bag with or without piecing on the front. Feathers taken from the Art Nouveau period give you lots of options. Use all kinds of colors and make a bag or use them on other projects. The style would be great on clothing - blouses, jackets, or on the legs of jeans. You receive instructions and patterns for both a medium and large bag in addition to your designs. You can also make the bag with a plain fabric front and back and make your own arrangement of feathers or combine them with other designs. A fun bag that opens REAL wide! You get designs to use as appliques and also a filled in version to do as regular embroidery if you prefer. Very easy to put together - the seams in the middle of the bag are optional. Because it's so easy to get into you can add lots of pockets. You receive full instructions and patterns. After seeing this finished I think it would be great made out of denim or an old pair of Jeans too. You could use the Jean's pockets on the back. Designs come in 4x4, 5x7 and 6x10.

This bag is constructed exactly like our Wild Roses Handbag, just the shape of the front and back is different. It has a zipper that opens wide and a lining with lots of pockets. You receive full instructions on aligning your designs and patterns for making your Handbag. You can also make a beautiful picture with the Magnolias or put them on a pillow.
The Magnolia designs as shown on the front of the bag are 6.8" x 11.8" in the medium size and 7.7" x 12.7" in the large size. The Medium bag is 13.7" wide by 11" high and the large bag is 16.1" wide by 13" high. I think this is the easiest and quickest bag I have ever made. There is only one pattern piece plus some squares if you want pockets. You get versions of the designs that are completely embroidery and those that allow you space for embellishments. Regardless of the size you buy, you will get three patterns: Small, medium and large. There are designs for every individual element so you can make your own arrangement, designs with alignment lines to follow the templates provided and also two commercial sizes - Small and Medium for large Hoop Machines. (Commercial designs come with complete, Small and Medium sets. You get complete instructions to make the bags as shown and ideas for variations.

There are a lot of ways you can make this bag! For the small green bag (using the small size) I stitched all the designs on the same fabric without using the small appliques on each. For the multi colored bag, I used the Medium size and different main fabrics and different fabrics for the appliques. You could eliminate the drawstring, use a snap or Velcro to hold the bag together and put a strap on the front and one on the back. You could lace a piece of lace or ribbon through the eyelets and tie a bow on one or both sides. Or stitch enough designs for three rows and make a tote bag. (The designs will look totally different with different fabrics and thread colors). Make a long shoulder strap or a short carry strap. I’m sure you will come up with other options too!

A great gift for Mother's Day! A nice large tote (15" x 18") with loads of pockets. It's perfect for knitting, shopping, or sewing projects. The designs are taken from a painting by Pierre-Joseph Redouté. You receive full instructions and templates for aligning your designs. The Complete set also includes the bouquet as one design in DST format. You also get lots of smaller designs to use on the tote or other projects.

A sophisticated bag but surprisingly easy to make! My goal was to create a bag with a zipper that opens really wide. The lining has loads of pockets and you have lots of designs to create additional accessories (the front of the bag is only three designs). You get full instructions to make both a medium or a large bag. The medium bag is 14" wide and 12" high (to where the straps attach) and the large is 16.5" wide and 14.2" high.

Modern, stylized flowers make these bags fun to make and fun to wear. You can get a totally different look using different colors as shown on the gray bag. Or try them in jewel tones on black suede cloth. The Pink flowers are on Black denim and the gray is a blended worsted. You can stitch for spring and summer or for autumn with the same designs. You receive a color chart that includes both colorways - just print the page you want to use. Choose a leafy or batik background fabric or a more subtle print to make the leaves stand out.
You receive instructions to make the bag with or without a zipper. It includes a secret zippered pocket that hides behind the large back pocket and lots of pockets inside. Use soft interfacing for a traditional Hobo bag look or use firm interfacing for a more structured bag. You receive three additional designs you can use for pockets or accessories. The green bag combines cotton batik and ultra suede and the autumn bag is all cotton.

I've always loved tote bags, but miss them having pockets. This bag has 16 pockets! You can add as many or as few as you like. It is a large tote - 18" high, 15" wide and 5" deep. You get full instructions to make the tote as shown. You also receive templates to align your designs as shown or make your own arrangement! You can use this tote bag for many different embroidery designs and the pansies could also make a pillow, jacket back or use the designs individually on any project.
This would make a great tote to take to craft fairs, expos or mall shopping, or use it as a knitting bag or sewing tote. Make one for Mom for Mother's Day so she can have a pretty place to keep all her essentials close by.

Sally King has provided the artwork for our Indian Girl Handbag. The original art work is done with pyrography! You can also use the Indian Girl for a great wall hanging. You get full instructions and patterns with an easy way to line up the designs. You can make the bag all in one color as the sample below or make the gussets and strap in a contrasting fabric. The instructions include options for a lot of pockets - even on the sides!

Crazy quilt designs are so much fun because you can use all kinds of fabrics and colors. These bags offer loads of places to add pockets! Petunias are great flowers for embroidery - they come in almost every color! I've done these with a slightly Tapestry look and you can easily choose colors you like. You can make the bag with or without a gusset and zipper, and with as many pockets as you want. The lining also includes pockets. You get full instructions to line up your designs (or make your own arrangement), patterns and full size templates.

Our convertible handbags are now standardized! This pattern will be able to be used with any of our convertible Handbag design sets labeled Series A. (There will also be a Series B which will be more like a hobo bag). This handbag is also a great canvas to design your own bags. Use patchwork, embroidery designs, fabric painting and embellishments to create one of kind masterpieces. You receive a complete pattern sheet for each size that includes all the pieces and also patterns for zippered pockets and cell phone pockets. And of course instructions to make your bag with lots of pictures.
In addition you will receive a set of label designs to use with your bags.

These delightful dragons are based on artwork by Anastasia Zabrodina of Chisinau, Moldova. Anastasia and I have signed a licensing contract for me to use some of her artwork in creating embroidery designs. The artwork of course remains the copyrighted property of Anastasia. She gives permission to use these designs on items for sale as long as the information *artwork from Anastasia Zabrodina and design from BFC* is given with the items. This bag is based on Pablo Picasso's Le guitariste. The brown medium size bag represents the original colors in the painting, but the blue bag shows how different it can look with a change of palette. I include colors for both variations. The designs are stitched individually and seamed together - very easy! No lining up :) Because of the nature of the pattern, the seams barely show, if at all. The instructions include how to create all your pattern pieces based on your stitched bag front - no patterns to print. There are different pocket options in addition to the easy to do zippered pocket shown and instructions for making the gusset as narrow or wide as you want. For the blue bag shown I have not included the inner bag and just added a magnetic snap to close it.

A sewing tote that is fun to carry! And there are enough pockets to hold everything you might need. Full instructions are included to easily make the bag any size you like so even those with a 4x4 hoop can make a large tote. The design section of the small bag is 11.8"x10.3", the medium 15 "x13" and the large 17.7" x15.4". You can assemble the designs as a solid front or with a velcro pocket as shown in the sample. The instructions also tell you how to assemble the designs so there will be no *fuzzies*. Other details like the tab that keeps the tote closed make this a special bag for you or a stitching friend.
A fun part of making this is finding things to embellish the front of the bag. I used safety pins, hooks and eyes, buttons and lace. An *extra* that comes with this bag is an Excel spreadsheet that lets you calculate what size to cut all your pieces based on the size you make your front. A chart to do this is also included for those of you that can't open Excel files.

The first of our Hobo Bag style Series B. You can stitch the front of this bag in three sections using different fabric, or stitch all of the embroidery on one piece of fabric. You get full patterns, instructions and design templates to make your bag and arrange your designs. The small size has some of the design components split into separate files to fit the small hoop. As you can see from the dark denim bag, the small bag has slightly different designs to allow for the same kind of detail in the embroidery as the large bag. You get optional extras like built in side pockets, a key fob and extra embroidery designs to use on the bag or complimentary items. (You can see all the designs by clicking on *check sizes* below)

A bag that really makes a statement! Our peacock is perfect for lots of bling too. I didn't add any so you can see just the embroidery, but I think the black bag will definitely get lots of crystals.
Try him in different colors. I can picture a white and silver peacock on a black bag with the leaves and rose in color. Or try pastels on a white bag. If you don't want to add the inner bag, add a velcro or magnetic snap. Pockets can go on the lining too in addition to the back and side. You get full instructions and patterns. These Mini Bag Covers will fit the Mini Size Inner Bag in our Series A Pattern. Or, they can be purses by themselves! You can exchange details between the purses and use the Floral or Fluer de Lis designs on either purse. The three different styles will give you lots of options for your own designs and embellishments also! I added crystals to two of them for a little bling, but they can be dressed up or down as much as you want. The Floral Bag is perfect to add an initial or monogram.
This set comes in small and medium, but each size makes the same size purses. Some of the designs are split in the small size to allow the same size embroidery in both sizes. The second of our Series A Outer Bags, this set can be done either as Quilt in the Hoop or seamed sections (no fuzzies). This bag will fit our Series A Inner Handbag Pattern. The samples below are the small and medium size bags.
Different colors will give you totally different looks as you can see below. The medium bag has a Southwestern look, while the small done in white on patterned black denim has an almost Mod look. You get instructions for both a regular strap or the braided strap. The set comes with instructions to do both versions of the designs along with the patterns you will need. NOTE: by rotating some of the designs, you can do the large bag with a 5x7 hoop.

A great bag to take to your quilting classes and parties. Though I did mine tone on tone, you can use any colors you like to totally change the look of your bag. The inner bag comes out and you can make different outer bags to use with it. The inner bag also can be used alone. The front is quilt in the hoop for easy assembly and you can use different things other than the beads I used to embellishment the strap - suede strips, small rope or any kind of cord. This bag comes in Small Medium and Large. The Inner Bag Measurements are Small: 10x12.2 inches, the Medium: 13x15.7 and the Large: 14.75x17.8 inches.

When is a bag not a bag? When it's two, three or more bags! Make an inner bag and make as many outer bags as you wish. Even the inner bag can be used alone. Solve the problem of having to move everything in your purse each time you want a different look. These would also be great to sell. Sell a customer one bag set and several outer bags to go with it. You get instructions, patterns, pattern layouts and design templates. Also ideas on how to embellish your bag.

Though these look like quilt in the hoop designs, they aren't. They are stitched as regular designs with an outline showing where the seam line is. This eliminates the problems with satin stitch borders and the *fuzzies*. You can use all kinds of materials and colors to get completely different looks. I used real suede, leather, linen and denim. You can also add more pockets – even on the inside of the flap! You can add as many embellishments as you desire. The bag is designed to put trim over each seam, but you can also add beads, crystals, buttons, etc. to the designs themselves.

I set out to create a bag that allowed us to use different fabrics, had lots of pockets to carry things, had a distinctive look and yet is super easy to put together! You will find this bag has all these features. You can put pockets on both sides in between the outer big pockets and the main bag and of course all you want inside on the lining. I include how to adjust the width of the bag and the strap for either a shoulder bag or a hand carry version. You receive full patterns and instructions with a materials list, yardages and loads of pictures - even fabric layouts! Even though this bag looks a little complex, it is the easiest of all our bags to make.
The medium size, shown below in purple and white is 14 x 10 x 4 inches and the large (the green and white bag) is 15.6 x 11 x 5 inches without the straps. A bag with lots of options! You can embroider the designs as shown (you receive a template) or make your own arrangement. Each design is complete in itself so you can also use them elsewhere. Make the bag with a big front embroidered pocket, or embroider directly on the bag. Use all the same fabric, or use contrasting fabrics to create a one of a kind look. For the black bag I stitched the outlines in Gold metallic thread instead of black. Silver or copper would also work well depending on your fabric. A great tote to use to deliver small packages or to take shopping. Lots of pockets both inside and out. You get full instructions to make the bag as shown or use your own favorite tote bag pattern. The back and sides, the outside pockets and the inside pockets are each made with only one piece of fabric to make this bag quick to put together. I used a layer of Christmas tulle or organza over my fabric to make the patches. It adds a lot of glitter and sparkle. I also added some crystals. You can dress this bag up as much as you want!
The small bag is 11.7" x 11.7", the medium bag is 14.5" x 14.5" (illustrated below) and the large is 17.4" x 17.4".

You have a lot of options on how you make your hobo bag. The Ivory bag below uses embroidery on all parts where the Blue Bag uses embroidery just on the front and a fantastic hand dyed fabric for the rest of the bag. You can choose as little or as much embroidery as you want. The instructions include directions for both versions of the bag in addition to patterns and templates. Though paisley designs originate in Persia as vegetable motifs with a twisted tear drop shape, I have always associated them with feathers. Perhaps it is their graceful shape, or the often feather like embellishments around the edges. This bag displays both. I have done the feathers in metallic thread to make them stand out. The paisley designs would lend themselves to metallic thread too. I stitched the purse on suede cloth with quite a bit of nap.
Some other color combinations could be fall colors on a chocolate brown background, pastel shades on white faux leather or do them as tone on tone with several shades of the same colors.
This is a more constructed purse than my other bags to date: zippered pocket in lining, interfaced throughout bag and lining, padded straps and various types of pockets in and out. All of my bags are my own design and I am finding I like to design handbags! I used BFC metallic thread on this purseThe medium bag is 13.6x10.3x5 inches and the large is 16x12x6 inches.

This is my vision of Kokopelli: At sunrise he dances and plays his flute across the desert bringing life and color to the once dry cracked sand. Kokopelli has been worshiped at least since the times of the ancient pueblo people, 750-850 AD. He has become known to represent the entire southwestern US and is a popular character for all kinds of decoration. He represents among many things fertility, spring and music.
In addition to the designs shown below you will receive instructions to make the purse shown. The designs I've used to border the zipper can also be used along the top of the bag to increase it's height or to make a strap.The medium bag (shown below) is 12 " high x 14.9 " wide and the large is 14 " high x 17.6"

This is a fun bag to make and use. You can stitch the designs as I did using the 3D Frog, Hibiscus and Butterfly, or stitch these designs directly onto the bag. The 3D Designs are stitched on organza without stabilizer. You can also make appliques of any of the designs as I did with some of the leaves. You get full instructions for these different methods and also patterns and instructions for the bag itself. The medium bag is 12 inches high and 15 inches wide; the large is 14 inches high and 17.7 inches wide. The medium bag is illustrated and I made it 4 inches deep. The instructions allow you to make the sides any width you want. There is also a set of just these designs plus some additional ones (no bag pattern or instructions)

Do you love to change bags but hate the hassle? Our Organizer gives you pockets to stash all the vital stuff. You make as many or as few pockets as you want - plain pockets, elastic edge pockets, a gusseted pocket, a credit card pocket - even a zipper pocket! It has a velcro closure so you can make it fit just right. As shown the organizer has 10 pockets and is probably too large for most needs. I wanted to illustrate all the options. And I'm sure you can come up with more! Instructions included to make all pockets shown.

It also has a lining with only three pieces of fabric - including all the pockets. The front of the bag could also be used as a picture or pillow. This set includes a 4x4 size also.

The inspiration for this bag came from our Humming Bird and Orchids Window. You will receive full instructions with pictures and patterns you can print to complete the bag and lining. There are instructions for the cord strap I used below and also a more traditional fabric strap. I also describe a way to stitch this bag together that greatly minimizes the *fuzzies* problem with many Quilt in the Hoop designs even with fabric like the silk I used for my sample.
