Fruit is the third in our Kitchen Series. The next and last will be Kitchen Essentials. Each set in the series will have 3 designs for towels, kitchen appliance covers, curtains, etc and 3 labels. The labels will be different for each set, but you will be able to stitch any name in any label. They are designed to be totally done in the hoop with options to change name. You thread a cord or string through the eyelet to tie the label onto a jar, etc. When you collect all 4 sets, you will have 12 major designs, 12 labels (4 different designs) and 12 names.

With summer coming and hopefully more opportunities to entertain our friends, I wanted to create something flexible that allows a lot of options. Coming in Small, Medium and Large, you can make placemats using only one size or as in my screen shot combine them together for more options. The napkin ring can also be used as a narrow border. These are stitched only on two layers of Organza - no other stabilizer. Stitch the designs on the top or sides of the placemat. Full instructions included.
These designs were done with Placemats in mind, but here are their Unique Qualities:
- Comes in Small, Medium and Large so you can use different sizes together or do the whole project in just one size
- Use only Organza as Stabilizer!!!! I used two layers.
- Just cut our the design without any finishing needed on the edges
- Zig Zag designs together or onto your project where needed with invisible thread.
- The napkin ring design can be stitched as a border.

We've seen so many great projects made with Fred's first Vintage Wine Set he decided to do another. These designs will coordinate with Vintage Wine. Some of the projects have included quilts, towels, table covers of various sizes and even curtains for a country kitchen.

Coffee can probably be called a universal drink and the aroma of fresh ground beans is hard to resist. This is the second set in the Coffee series. Below I have used designs from this set and Coffee I to make a table mat. I stitched the designs on squares and then stitched colored sashing between them with a plain border. I put a layer of batting underneath and a layer of muslin below the batting. I then stitched in the ditch around the sashings and also around the outlines of the designs. To finish the mat I put a piece of fabric on top of the mat and stitched around the edge, leaving a small opening to turn. I then stitched around the mat to create a *mock* edging. A very quick and easy project. It could also be adapted for placemats or a wall hanging.

At the suggestion from a customer this set is designed to coordinate with Fred's Vintage Wine Set. They can be used with the Vintage Wine set or by themselves to create quilts and wall hangings. You receive three plain circles so you can add your own wine and grape designs to create even more variety. The three border designs have stitches as guides for hooping (both regular and continuous hoop). The outline designs can be used to quilt some of your blocks. This set also coordinates with the Lace Bowl & Doily - Vintage Grapes.

Fresh picked grapes, a wedge of cheese and a bottle of Vintage Wine speak of civility and the fruits of the earth. Fred has rendered these designs with subtle realism - the sparkle of the crystal, the bottle seen through a glass, the grapes that have the softened look from being chilled. While these designs would be perfect for framed pictures, they would also look lovely gracing table linens and curtains in a country kitchen or a more formal dining room.

You can make all kinds of matching items for your kitchen with this set. The freestanding lace squares can be stitched together for placemats, runners, even tablecloths. I also made some sun catchers from them adding a ribbon loop and a few beads at the bottom. They could be turned as a diamond shape and used as an edging for curtains or a tablecloth. The fabric designs would be good for matching towels, curtains, aprons, tablecloths or make a fun denim shirt! The names could be scattered in between the designs or placed under each design for a border. There is a matching Lace Bowl, Lace Bowl & Doily - Veggie Teapots.
