Wildflowers are always pretty as embroidery. They have soft colors that blend together. I designed these for a quilt but of course they can be used on linens, clothing...any project. Our white roses are created mainly with Satin Stitch. This gives the roses more sheen and they seem to stand on top of the fabric. The white spray will be pretty if up behind one of the Rose designs. Or if using the roses for something like a set of lingerie bags, use the last two designs for the smaller bags or pockets.

A total of 72 designs to use individually where you need *just a little something* or group them in various ways. The first three hoops show the 18 designs in the 2 in high size. The next two hoops take two of the designs and show the 4 sizes for each. I used variegated thread to stitch these. And the screen shots shown next gives an example of creating a border with the designs using the 2 inch size of one and the 4 inch size of the other. The 5 inch tall designs are done in backstitch (bean stitch) the rest are done in a regular run stitch.
Metallic thread will really make these designs pop. Use them on clothing, linens, hand bag, totes and home decor items.

Veggies are the first in our Kitchen Series. They will be followed by Herbs, Fruit and Kitchen Essentials. Each set in the series will have 3 designs for towels, kitchen appliance covers, curtains, etc and 3 labels. The labels will be different for each set, but you will be able to stitch any name in any label. They are designed to be totally done in the hoop with options to change name. You thread a cord or string through the eyelet to tie the label onto a jar, etc. When you collect all 4 sets, you will have 12 major designs, 12 labels (4 different designs) and 12 names.

Graceful designs to use on clothing and home decor. They would be beautiful on non-plush towels, pillows - even as quilt blocks to mix with other designs. I used metallic gold thread for all the designs, but they will be equally pretty using a gold colored thread. And of course, there are all kinds of colors for the leaves! A Companion to Large Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. Van Gogh painted 2 series of sunflowers, one in 1887 in Paris and the other in 1888 in Arles. This belongs to the second set.

Fractal influenced designs are so much fun to use! They stitch quickly because so many of them have large sheer areas. You can use any colors you like without having to worry if they go together. And they can be used for anything from full quilts to a single design on a favorite blouse. I love them on Black, but they can go on any color fabric. There are two complete flamingo designs with their own flowers and foliage. They are designed to make the fronts on a vest or neckline as our other two Folk Art Clothing sets: BFC1669 Dragon Dreams and BFC1671 The Hummingbird in the Garden. But you also receive a design you can use with the two *side* designs to create a complete design the back of a jacket or vest and or pillow! And of course you can use your designs to create your own arrangements. For those of you that aren’t into Flamingos, a heron design is included you can use instead!
The Flamingos and their flower garden are created with a stitch similar to a folk style hand embroidery. Each design for the side panels has alignment lines and included you will find full instructions to easily put your designs together. Because of the nature of the designs, there is a lot of leeway in lining these up. I’ve also included both left and right versions of the designs to make it easier to embroider them on a vest or similar item. And finally there is a commercial size for both Flamingos: 6.2” x 11.5” and 6” x 10.7””The commercial designs are supplied in both left and right versions. There are some smaller extra designs you can use for pockets, filling in a neckline, etc.

I wanted to create some quick stitching light designs appropriate for spring and summer. Roses seemed the perfect subject! These would be lovely on some white curtains in a kitchen, bedroom or bath. Or use one in your favorite rose color on a special blouse. These roses are based on real varieties of roses. The designs will work well in one color also. Or you can stitch just the outlines and skip the fills to give you lots of options.

Before I started this set I pictured a Country Style Picture – something I could hang in my kitchen or Front Hall. I’m happy at how it turned out, though I had to do some looking for appropriate fabric. LOL This would also be great in a Sun Room.
You can apply the flowers as I did so they are very 3 dimensional, or stitch them down more or even completely for a very different look. To stitch them down completely, I recommend using invisible thread using a zig zag stitch. I used only small designs for my sample, but if you have all the sizes you could make a large bouquet using for example the small pansies and coreopsis, and large versions of the other flowers and leaves. Full instructions included.
NOTE: - this set comes in Small for the 4x4 hoop in addition to Medium and Large.

These designs are based on illustrations of Lace designs found in Ackerman's Repository - a British publication from the early 1800's. They can be used individually or strung in borders. I have included a screen shot of a compound border found in the publication made from two of the designs. I can see these designs used on all kinds of linens, but also would be very pretty on spring and summer clothing - on a blouse, or along the edge of a skirt.

Jacobean embroidery became popular in the 17th Centruy during the reign of James I of England whose Latin name was Jacobus. It is more a style, rather than particular embroidery techniques. It is filled with stylized flowers, vines, plants, animals and birds. It is still an extremely popular style for embroidery, textiles and all kinds of decorating. Feel free to experiment with colors in these designs to make them appropriate for your project. There are no rules! I also experimented with different textures and stitches when creating these designs.
I can picture table linens for Thanksgiving with these designs. Make a tablecloth, or placemats, napkins, runners or acenterpiece. And since they aren’t traditional Thanksgiving designs, they will also be appropriate to use throughout the year.

Simple yet sophisticated these designs are very versatile and can be used for a variety of projects. They can be used for cloth napkins, hand towels or even on a shirt- The possibilities are endless. I spruced some of them up a bit by using fabric paint, sparkles and crystals- some can even be colored in with crayons as in a coloring book. I created these designs with clothing and table settings in mind. For clothing, the tall designs can be used along either side of the opening or placket; the medium size design can be pockets and the small design on a cuff or collar. For the table, use the tall design for the placemat, the medium design for coasters and the small flower on the napkins. Of course I’m sure you will come up with many other ideas!

Large floral appligue designs - a little bit realistic and a little bit decorative! I designed them with pillows inmind, but they will also make a great picture, a fancy T-Shirt or a jacket back. You will recieve a template to make the arrangement shown (the designs also have alingment lines to make it easy to stitch) or you can make all kinds of arrangements to fit your project. The second picture shows two of the designs stitched without any fabric which gives you more options.

I've always loved the look of variegated thread on the spool but haven't always happy with the stitched results. I have developed some techniques to minimize and soften the banding. The results are amazing! For example the first flower below has leaves done with just one variegated thread yet it looks like intricate shading has been used.

The first of our Hobo Bag style Series B. You can stitch the front of this bag in three sections using different fabric, or stitch all of the embroidery on one piece of fabric. You get full patterns, instructions and design templates to make your bag and arrange your designs. The small size has some of the design components split into separate files to fit the small hoop. As you can see from the dark denim bag, the small bag has slightly different designs to allow for the same kind of detail in the embroidery as the large bag. These designs have been created from artwork dating to the 19th century. They are definitely Victorian, but done in a very unique style. These 12 designs can be used alone or grouped as shown into two large embroideries. The designs come with alignment lines and you receive instructions to easily combine the designs. I have done them in two of the hot colors for spring - turquoise and brown. The entire set uses 3 shades of turquoise and 4 shades of brown. It is easy to change the color scheme - for example raspberry shades of pink with green leaves.

Although as fragile as rice paper, tiny Alpine Wildflowers survive and flourish in the harshest of terrains above the tree line at 4,000 to 5,000 feet. Perhaps this seeming impossible feat of nature creates their appeal for us. They remind us that humans too are fragile in many ways, yet have survived over 3,000,000 years. (Lucy, the oldest fossil found in Ethiopia, lived between 3,000,000 and 3,600,000 years). (continued on set BFC651)

Iznik pottery is named after a small town in Anatolia - the eastern half of modern day Turkey. It was originally adapted from Oriental pottery designs, but soon developed it's own special style. There were specific stylized motifs, some of which are represented in this set and identified below. They tended to use a limited color palette, dominated by blues and reds. These designs can be made to look very different by using different color combinations. For example, pastel pinks and lime greens would give a fresh, spring time look. For a softer, more romantic look try them in pale blues and lavender with soft green leaves.

You can do these squares as regular quilt blocks or as quilt in the hoop with the included border designs and instructions. The borders can be used for quilts or many other projects. I chose to do two versions of each - the one color and the multi colored in order to minimize jumps (most one color designs have no jump stitches).

I experimented with the pillow below by using a dark batik fabric. It looks almost like tapestry in person! I used the exact same colors as I did in the individual designs stitched on white but you can see how different a look you can create by changing backgrounds.The small set of designs will make a picture 11.6" x 11.6", the medium set will be 15"x15" and the large, 17.5"x17.5".

The ancestry of the Tadjik people goes back 4000 years. This ethnic group has lived in Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Pakistan and China, along the *Silk Road*. Originally influenced by Persian arts, you can see their influence in the textile work of many countries. They have a rich cultural history of textile ornament. Their embroideries are taken from flowers and vegetation and is always very decorative. This is a companion set to Ancient Russian Florals I and they can be used together. I have used similar colors and styles in this set so you can put them together easily. There are two examples below.
These designs are very appropriate for clothing, linens, pillow, wall hangings and quilts.

I've been looking for artwork to create a set especially designed for clothing and linens. These ancient Indian/Persian designs seem perfect! You can combine the designs as shown or use them as individual designs. The large combined embroidery I stitched on my vest could be mirrored for a large circular design on the back of a jacket or shirt. The three designs in the top row are for a neckline. Or the side designs could be put straighter and the three used along the bottom of a skirt or jacket. Any of the designs in the large embroidery can be used alone or repeated as borders. The mini designs can be scattered anywhere. The large embroidery and the borders all have cross hairs that stitch to help with placement. You also receive templates for these combined designs and instructions with other ideas. I have used Autumn colors because of the time of year, but these would look striking in many other color combinations: black, gray and silver, hot pinks, lavenders, blues. Or in all pastel shades on fine pillowcases. You could even stitch them all one color for a tone on tone look.
