Tropical Flowers

Tropical Flowers and dry palm leaves in a neutral palette give you a lot of options for home decor and clothing. I've stitched them on a light color, but they go well with any colors ranging from dark rust to peach. or beige to taupe! We will have an alphabet to go with these designs early next week.
Boho (Bohemian) refers to artistic people that dress in an unconventional style, They tend to wear flowing clothes decorated with embroidery, flowers, beads and fringe.

The Aztec lily, Sprekelia formosissima is a gorgeous dramatic flower. I like this bouquet because it is providing a backdrop for the Lily rather than fighting it for attention.
I've stitched this on light tan linen, but it can also be stitched on black. Some of the small details in the background will blend in with the background, but it is still very effective. I've done a screen shot of how it would look.

I have always loved these cranes, but wasn't sure where they were from until I started looking last week. I found they are indigenous to Southern Africa and especially South Africa, mainly in the wetlands area. (hence the wetlands design to use as a background for your cranes) So I read a little more and discovered all the gorgeous flowers that grow in South Africa. So many to choose from! One site alone listed over 2000 species. I chose the King Protea because it is the National Flower of South Africa and the Disa Uniflora because we all love orchids, and of course many of us are familiar here with the *African Daisy* (Barberton Daisy). You will also receive a split version of the tall crane so you can make him large as I did on the vest.
These designs are appropriate for clothing. You will receive instructions on how I made the pockets on the vest below and also templates to create the arrangement on the back. They can also be used for pictures, pillows or the centerpiece of a quilt.
PLEASE NOTE: For those with large hoops be sure to read the *check sizes* below to see the Commercial sizes.12 Designs each in 2 sizes ML Check Sizes

Palm Tree Decor is becoming very popular! BFC's version has lots of variations. You can use just the palm panels for your bowl or add one with a bright red hibiscus as I did below. The doily also gives you lots of choices with three different squares. You can see some ideas lower on this page. These squares could also be used for a square or rectangular box - with or without the scalloped edge decoration. And to decorate matching items, you receive two regular designs of a palm and a Hibiscus. The background of these bowl and doily designs looks very similar to a rattan mat. Be sure to see the matching set of regular designs, Tropical Palms.
