Smilodon, the most well known of the Saber Tooth Tigers, epitomizes our image of prehistoric, wild times. It's canines could be 12 inches long! It has been extinct for 10,000 years - almost impossible to envision. But you can capture this wild strength on a shirt, a jacket back, a pillow or a handbag.
The medium and large sizes are split into two sections with alignment lines.

Many cultures, especially the ancient Celts, have used tribal designs to denote religious following, clan designation and the like. The designs have deep meaning - the tribal lion could signify a person's loyalty, honor, courage or family crest. You can stitch this design in two ways - putting 3 sections together or stitching the Commercial size as one design.

I can picture this on the back of a denim jacket!!! For variation, replace the blue with red. The red would really look nice on Black denim. For a wall hanging, you could make a hanger of a small real tree branch and attach the hanging with cord. It would make quite a statement in a den. Native Americans have sometimes associated the meaning of owl with wisdom, foresight, and keeper of sacred knowledge. Since Ancient times owls have represented Wisdom, Mystery, Transition, Messages, Intelligence, Mysticism, Protection and Secrets . There is a commercial size in DST that stitches the entire Owl with each set. This Owl complements our Large Tribal Tiger .

These designs are based on the Granite carvings in the The Old Mutual Building in South Africa. They represent nine ethnic African groups (not just South African) labelled thus: "Xosa", "Pedi", "Maasai", "Matabele", "Basuto", "Barotse", "Kikuyu", "Zulu", and "Bushman". I can see a fantastic quilt made with all of these designs.
