Sometimes we want something really special for a gift. These designs are perfect! They can be put on anything from clothing to towels to everything in between. They stitch quickly considering all the detail. The design shown on the towel has alignment lines if you would like to stitch a wide border. I've included a screenshot of how it would look. There are 8 smaller designs that you can use to create your own arrangement or as they are in small places. Since our color charts print actual size, you can print them and cut them out to try different placements. Good for Mother's Day gifts!

A Victorian Era salon was a hosted, cultural event featuring Art, Philosophy or Literature. I thought it would be fun to use some artistic license and make a *Silk* salon! A gathering of ladies that can choose the latest fabrics for their fashions would be so much fun. You will receive templates and full instructions to make the background and add your designs. You can stitch them all directly onto your background but I also show you a way to stitch them separately and fuse them to your project. This method is fun because there is no *lining up* that you need to do. And of course you can make your own arrangement of the designs.

This set depicts looking through a window at the desk or table of someone that seeks treasure. There are two treasure chests, watches, a spy glass, maps and pearls. It is stitched in squares and then zigzagged or satin stitched together. I made this set as a window because it seemed so appropriate for the subject! I can see someone peeking in through the window to see the treasure. It is designed to be stitched on dark brown fabric to lower the stitch count. There is stitching everywhere, but some is very sheer. NOTE: Both the medium and large size will fit in a 5x7 hoop. The Jumbo requires a 6x7 hoop or larger.

You will receive full instructions to make your map - with absolutely NO SEWING involved! It even has a built in hanger in the back. You can use this method for many different wall hangings. You also receive instructions to assemble your map. Or use the sections individually. I can picture the map of Africa with the head of a lion or Cheetah, or the map of Australia with a Kangaroo. Instead of the compass, you could use one of the smaller Vintage Watches - or add it in addition to the compass.

I've always loved pocket watches and it's a shame not to see them much anymore. These designs will bring back the nostalgia of another time. These designs are taken from some Vintage French Fashion Plates. You can use these ladies on many projects, but I thought they were perfect for a tote bag. The bag comes in three sizes and the ruffled trim is optional. What is a little different about this tote bag is the inside. There are two side pockets in the lining that have stiff interfacing. On the inside facing side of each pocket there are more pockets. There are also two stiff side pockets. And to finish the structure is a fabric covered stiff bag bottom. The inner stiff pockets keep the bag in shape and also keep the items in the smaller pockets from pulling the lining out of shape. Full instructions and templates included. This boot will totally change its look depending on the colors you choose. For fun I did mine in jewel colors. But you can make it a Christmas stocking by stitching it in reds, greens and golds. For a delicate look, try whites, creams and golds. Or choose colors that go with a particular bedroom or powder room. If you are displaying the boot on the wall, you can add something like dried lavender or other fragrant herbs in the top.

These designs have been created from artwork dating to the 19th century. They are definitely Victorian, but done in a very unique style. These 12 designs can be used alone or grouped as shown into two large embroideries. The designs come with alignment lines and you receive instructions to easily combine the designs. You can also make your own combinations! This set comes in 4x4, 5x7 and 6x10 sizes. (Many of the Large size will also fit a 5x7 hoop - see Check Sizes below)

A great tote to use to deliver small packages or to take shopping. Lots of pockets both inside and out. You get full instructions to make the bag as shown or use your own favorite tote bag pattern. The back and sides, the outside pockets and the inside pockets are each made with only one piece of fabric to make this bag quick to put together. I used a layer of Christmas tulle or organza over my fabric to make the patches. It adds a lot of glitter and sparkle. I also added some crystals. You can dress this bag up as much as you want!
The small bag is 11.7" x 11.7", the medium bag is 14.5" x 14.5" (illustrated below) and the large is 17.4" x 17.4".

I didn't make this stocking with Christmas designs (though I don't think anyone would miss it hanging from the fireplace) because i can see it also making a great wall decoration in a Victorian setting. You can see the actual designs by clicking on *Check Sizes* below.) The red stocking below is the full embroidered version. For the pink one, I used just the back designs and added purchased embellishments. You can decorate it as much or as little as you wish. The white lace for the laces is a piece of freestanding lace you get with the designs. The name tag on the red stocking comes with the Merry Christmas and the back is plain for you to add the person's name if desired. The medium size stockings (shown below) are 14.25 inches from the top to the bottom of the heel and the large would be a little less than 17 inches.

These Victorian ladies show you don't need a bikini to look sexy at the beach! :) In addition to something like the tote shown, they can adorn towels, summer clothing, linens and throws.
For the tote, I fused three fabrics for the sand, sea and sky to a piece of muslin before stitching the designs.

A true Victorian style stocking in three sizes. The back of the stocking can also be used to make a stocking on it's own. I added purchased lace medallions to the one shown. You can also interchange the plain large squares for one of the front squares and add your own designs or text. You will find you can make a lot of different stockings with this set. I used a plain pale gold silk for the sections, but you could also use many different fabrics and colors. I inserted a small gold lace trim in between the front and back while zigzagging them together. These designs are stitched with batting and backing completely in the hoop and just zig zagged together. You will receive full instructions. The finished stocking, without the loop, is 12.6 inches tall in the small size, 16 inches tall in the medium size and 18.8 inches tall in the large size.

Travel Posters have always been popular. I think they help us imagine being in all kinds of exotic places. These designs can be stitched directly onto a project or appliqued as I did on the silk throw below. I used applique so there wouldn't be any stabilizer on the back. The designs would also be great for a trunk or chest cover, a denim shirt or jacket or a travel tote. If you want different places on the Oval designs, the lettering is done in a separate color stop so you can skip it and add your own lettering. Perhaps create a special quilt of all the places you've been in your travels.

These designs are taken from a Victorian catalog (now copyright free) of Tile designs. However, the patterns go back to a Byzantine era carpet. The tiles were designed to repeat the center section and have the scrolled border go around the outer edge - perfect for a quilt! Or you can create large squares as I did below and stitch these together directly or with sashing between them. Experiment with different colored fabrics and you will see a whole new design appear. The tiles were originally done in gold, black and burgundy. I can see a coverlet stitched on black and burgundy fabric with gold metallic thread.
You get two versions - one you can stitch as regular designs on fabric (my blue and white sample) and then stitch the squares together as you like and also a *Quilt in the Hoop version* (the yellow and blue sample) which creates completed, quilted squares to zig zag together.The blocks as shown below will be 15.5x15.5 for the small size, 19.5x19.5 for the medium size and 23x23 for the large size.

Postcards are fun! They are all the rage now and Valentines Day is great for giving them a try. I have designed these so you can also use them for other occasions. for example the *Queen of Hearts* would be great to send a card playing friend, the flowers can be used for any occasion, the clown would be great for child's party or for them to send to friends. The text stitches as a separate color stop so you can eliminate it if desired. You will receive instructions for completing your postcards.

The Elizabethan era spanned the years from 1558 to 1603. This was a lavish period for dress and hairstyles. Queen Elizabeth was said to have at least 1000 dresses alone. The lady with the veil was taken from a portrait of the Queen. Neck ruffs and wired collars (called rebatos) were popular. The hair was frizzed or curled. The significance of this period in the history of hats was this was the first time young married women were seen in public with their hair uncovered wearing only jeweled ornaments or net cauls. The other major development was the popularity of hats. They were made of felt and beaver and were extremely expensive.

From glamorous to humorous, women have always added a lot to advertising! These ladies would make great additions to gifts like totes, scarves, and shirts. Or put them on days of the week towels. I used Madeira FS metallic thread for some of the colors to add a little sparkle. All of the lettering in each design is a separate color stop in case you want to stitch the design without the lettering or want the lettering by itself. Some of the 4x4 designs have the lettering in a separate design so I could make the design as large as possible. You can see these by clicking on *Check Sizes* below.

I have started to use these designs with my Victorian ladies and will post photos when I have a little more completed.
