BFC0245 Scenic Bowl-Kokopelli

Not rated yet

Kokopelli is the first in a series of Scenic bowls. Our scenic bowls will either tell a story or depict a landscape. Here is Kokopelli - a magical character over 3000 years old. He has been known as trickster, fertility God, the loving spirit of the Earth and Humanity. Playing his flute he has also been known as the symbol of happiness and joy. My favorite description of Kokopelli is bringing Spring out of Winter. He comes and plays his flute for us, the sun comes out, the snow melts, and all things grow again. I cannot help but smile when seeing this little character playing his flute with his bag of seeds on his back.

I purchased the kokapelli bowl and doily from you. I have it all embroidered and it is beautifull. I have sides of bowl sewn together leaving one seam open but cannot get the bottom sewn on no matter what I try it does not work. HELP Thank you if you could guide me how to do this. Joyce

Hello Joyce - if you check the instructions, I suggest you stitch all the sides together but leave the last side open. Then you can stitch in the bottom and stitch up the last side seam. It is almost impossible to stitch the bottom in once all the sides are stitched together. The only way i can think of is please the inside of one panel against the right side of the bottom. Stitch together with a zig zag stitch over the edge of the bottom and the side leaving a little space so the stitching is almost like a hinge. This is hard to describe in words - sorry! Email me if this doesn't make sense. Continue stitching around the bottom o f the bowl. The stitching is done from the outside. I've done this sometimes when i want the bowl to stand up very straight at the sides. The instructions I'm referring to are in the colorchart.zip file that came with your designs. Again, please feel free to email me with more questions. Suz
