Tutorial: 3 Hour Quilt

This quilt does not use most traditional quilting methods. It is designed for those of you that haven’t tried quilting and are a little intimated by all the steps and techniques needed. This is how I started to explore quilting. I still use it for many quick projects. After doing a few of these it is becoming much easier for me to incorporate standard quilting methods – a little at a time.

You need no special skills! Only regular straight stitching is used. Though I didn’t make my sample all in one sitting, I timed each time I worked on it and came out with a total of 3 hours. (Does not include embroidery time) It may take you a little longer if this is the first time you are doing anything like this. But you should be able to easily finish it in a day or a weekend. The time DOES NOT include the time to embroider the blocks!

Tutorial - An Easy to make Tote Bag with Embroidery

I LOVE tote bags. I use them for so many things. They are prettier than paper or plastic bags. I put separate projects that aren’t quite done in Tote Bags. I put hooks on the wall to hang them so they add decorations as they are waiting to be finished. We have three floors and LOTS of stairs. I keep a Tote bag at the top floor hanging on the railing and one on the first floor. This way I always have an easy way to carry things up and down.
