Smilodon, the most well known of the Saber Tooth Tigers, epitomizes our image of prehistoric, wild times. It's canines could be 12 inches long! It has been extinct for 10,000 years - almost impossible to envision. But you can capture this wild strength on a shirt, a jacket back, a pillow or a handbag.
The medium and large sizes are split into two sections with alignment lines.

My goal in creating these designs (along with the Filled Version BFC1692) was to give enough options to create any size quilt with sophisticated children’s designs. These fun animals are done in two versions – Filled and Blackwork. They can be combined in one quilt. And since each set comes in 4 sizes, between the two sets you have 80 options for quilt blocks! Having only 3 colors other than Black and White it is easy to changes colors. Try them in shades of blues, pinks, yellow and gold, greens. This increases the options for a quilt! You can also use the designs to decorate children’s clothing and match the colors to the rest of the outfit. You can see the screenshot of a possible way to make quilt blocks.

Zentangle designs are lots of fun. I’ve liked the look of the filled Zentangle, but the designs can be quite stitch intensive. These designs are a combination of open and filled work. They are also done in neutral colors so the designs become the point of attraction! You can of course use other colors – just exchange the lightest color in the design with the lightest new color you want to use.
I think these designs are great for clothing. I can see the Ostrich or Giraffe, for example, popping out from a jacket pocket. Or put the cat right on a pocket. Any of them in a large size would be great on the back of a shirt, vest or jacket. Or stitch one in the lower corner of the front of a garment. They could also play around the edge of a neat skirt!!

Elephants are majestic animals and their images are perfect ornamentation. You can stitch your large Elephant in bronze colors or grays (see below). The stitching is all done with two layers of color for a lot of shimmer and life in the design. Full instructions included.

You get two versions of each design. One includes a stitched background (the black) and the other is an applique design where you use fabric for the black background. This Applique version stitches much more quickly. You can add embellishments or not. I used Hot Fix Crystals on the medium size designs and both Hot Fix and large glue-on crystals for the Jumbo size Elephant I stitched on white fabric at the top of the page. Experiment with colors for these critters! Choose a neutral background and one or two colors in different shades for the decoration. Or match the colors to the room it will be in or just use your favorite colors. These designs are appropriate for quilts, clothing, and home décor like pillows and pictures.

Make a lap quilt or play mat for your favorite child to help them learn their animals. Use sashing of bright colored flannel to put it together and make name tags of felt for them to match up with the animals. Or choose their favorite animal and stitch it on shirts or PJ's.
