  •  In addition to a beautiful quilt, stitch these beauties on handbags, totes, clothing or pillows.  I can see a black jacket with a bird on one shoulder and its flower on the opposite pocket.  Or make a pillow with the bird on one side and the flowers on the other. You could make a great gift for a friend going on a vacation or cruise.

  •  I always go back to Art Nouveau. I love it's style with subtle colors, graceful lines and curves, and flora and fauna that's decorative with just a hint of reality. These designs can be used individually or grouped to create borders or large tapestries. I have included some ideas in the photos. These designs coordinate with our large Picture shown to the left and below in the related products.

  •  This set is put together differently than our other Windows sets - no visible seams! You can see that some sections of the designs have an outline that follows the black leading so when you stitch them together, the seam doesn't show. You can also use just some of the designs. The center section with the parrot would make an interesting tote or use just the outer designs to frame a favorite tropical design of birds or flowers. I have done this design in true Art Nouveau colors, but he would also be exciting done in more traditional blues and brighter greens. Another option would be to substitute metallic threads for the parrot and make him really stand out. These designs can also be stitched on organza for a true *Stained Glass Window*.

The medium size shown below is 18" x 9.7" (designs only - not including fabric borders and the large size is 21.2" x 11.4". You receive full instructions on creating your Stained Glass project. This is a great beginner project as it is easier to put together than our more traditional windows sets, but makes a very impressive finished piece.

Bird of Paradise flowers are intriguing, especially if you don't live in the more tropical climates and only see them in bouquets! Their brilliant colors and spiked shapes blend well with tropical, oriental or art nouveau themes. The first four designs can be used to create a picture, the front of a tote bag or the center piece of a table mat. You could also combine these four squares with the other designs stitched on black fabric to make a large wall hanging or centerpiece. The Strelitzia reginae is the species we are most used to seeing with its vibrant orange flowers. A lessor known variety of Strelitzia reginae is Mandela's Gold and has blue and yellow flowers as shown below in the last design.

I combined one of the flowers with a tropical fabric to create a fun purse to show how versatile these designs can be.

The medium size picture, shown below is 10x10 inches and the large would be 12x12 inches without borders.
