Cats are important to many cultures but to the ancient Egyptians they were magical creatures, capable of bringing good luck to the people who housed them. To honor these treasured pets, wealthy families dressed them in jewels and fed them treats fit for royalty. When the cats died, they were mummified. You can purchase Medium, Large or Jumbo with designs you align to make the picture plus two individual black cat designs or a commercial option which gives you three commercial sizes of the picture.

Osiris is the Egyptian God of the after life. Since the ancient Egyptians thought of the dead as *the living ones*, Osiris has also been called the King of the Living. Because of the hope he bestowed in life after death, he is also associated with the cycles of nature and the flooding of the Nile.

The tan background on these designs is your fabric showing through - we used a batik for an *ancient* look. We carried that theme through by making borders of Stonehenge fabrics. In addition to a wall hanging, you can use the center circle designs for a pillow or to make a dramatic handbag. You receive full instructions to do the designs as Quilt in the Hoop and a PDF that shows you the sequence of how to put the designs together.

I think Celtic designs appeal to many of us because of their symmetry and basic simplicity of design. Yet, even with this simplicity, with different colors they can become very exciting, as Fred has shown here.
