I found a great painting in a rather primitive art style to use to create my Noah's Ark. In this set you get the ARK and how to create it easily even with a small hoop. It shows you how to stitch the parts and sew them together apart from the background and then fuse it to the background. The method can be used for some of the characters that have a smooth enough outline. Instructions included plus a template to follow. But the fun of this kind of project is to create your own arrangement! Perspective is shown by having smaller characters at the top and having them get larger as you move down. You can also combine sizes for even more perspective.

Before I started this set I pictured a Country Style Picture – something I could hang in my kitchen or Front Hall. I’m happy at how it turned out, though I had to do some looking for appropriate fabric. LOL This would also be great in a Sun Room.
You can apply the flowers as I did so they are very 3 dimensional, or stitch them down more or even completely for a very different look. To stitch them down completely, I recommend using invisible thread using a zig zag stitch. I used only small designs for my sample, but if you have all the sizes you could make a large bouquet using for example the small pansies and coreopsis, and large versions of the other flowers and leaves. Full instructions included.
NOTE: - this set comes in Small for the 4x4 hoop in addition to Medium and Large.

There will be additional sets to fill out this Gardening Quilt Collection. The main shed is sheer stitching to add texture and minimize stitch counts. The 6 designs are easy to put together and I have built in some leeway. The seams between the sections are also minimized by what stitches on the top. In addition to making a quilt this would make an adorable picture near a window facing the garden. Full instructions are included.
Finished Size of design: Medium 13" x 10", Large 15.3" x 11.8". Jumbo 19" x 14.75"
A commercial size, 13" x 10" that stitches as one design will be included with all purchases of this set.

Fairy gardening has become all the rage during the last few years. You can find all kinds of information and supplies to create your own Fairy Garden. But for those of us who don’t have the time, space or ambition to create one outside, you can create your own Fairy Garden for your wall or quilt! I put mine close together because I wanted the look of a garden nestled closely in a big garden. But for a quilt you could spread them out and use other flower and vegetation, fences, gates, etc. to make a large center panel.

So many of us love Dragonflies, so I thought I would dress them up a bit! You can use them as individual designs or make a picture or Art quilt. I didn’t have time, but I plan to put crystals, beads, gem stones and maybe some fibers on my picture. I will post a picture of it on the website when I get it done.

I made mine as a picture without batting or quilting, but I include instructions if you want to make an Art Quilt.

Group these pictures with other projects or use one to fill a small space. You can also stitch them both on one piece of fabric, perhaps even adding more of the extra poppy designs. The first three designs make the left picture, the next four make the right picture and the remaining 5 designs can be used for other projects or to add to your pictures. King Melchior (also known as Melichior) was a Persian scholar. .He brought Gold as his gift to the Christ Child.
Each of the 3 Kings will have three Versions. This is so you can choose the size King you want even if you only have a 5x7 Hoop Size. I stitched the third version of Melchior on Organza. I then stitched the sections together and appliquéd them onto my medium size background, adding some stuffing as I went along. I then embellished him with hot fix crystals, beads and trims. He really stands out!
Some options for the various sizes are use the smaller version of each so you can spread them out as if coming from a distance. Or, use the largest version in the middle as I have and then the middle size version next, and the smallest last. You have many options! Using the smallest version you can also make a smaller background, or just make part of the background so a smaller wall hanging. And of course if you use all the largest versions of each King you can make an even large wall hanging! Thread Kit Available.

You will learn a lot of different techniques making this Art Quilt. This first set creates the background. It uses very simple techniques that add a lot of texture and interest to your project. Full instructions and an actual size Template and Pattern are included. The main materials are cotton fabric and Organza. You can even stitch the designs on Organza and applique them to your quilt! (No lining up). But if you decide to stitch directly onto your quilt, the designs can be placed however you like.

My inspiration for this set is all the fun embellishments we've been adding to BFC Stash. And of course many of you must know by now I love Under the Water scenes. These designs can be stitched with or without Embroidery glitter. They are nice and lacy without the glitter! You can also use Angelina Film. Full instructions for making the wall hanging as shown (or with a straight border) along with instructions for applying all the embellishments are included. You also receive a full size template to help you place your designs -or make your own arrangement! The areas for the coral reef are actually three dimensional - extra batting providing the higher levels. A lot of the techniques you learn with this set can be used so many different ways on other projects. DIMENSIONS: 22" x 32" All designs can be stitched in a 5x7 hoop.

Halloween projects are fun and this one is no exception. Though it looks complex, this project is very easy to make. You receive full instructions to make the background, templates for placement (or do your own), applique designs for Reflectra Stitchfoil, Angelina Fibers or regular fabric, regular designs and even freestanding designs. I used two neon colors which really make the project pop and you can also use metallics. I plan on hanging this outside on Halloween so the passing cars will catch the reflective foil designs.

Seahorses and Sea Dragons are fascinating! They come in so many shapes and colors. These little guys might be a little larger than life, but that is their fantasy. Twenty four designs in all to use as individual designs or make pictures or pillows. Instructions included for the wall hanging shown. Add lots of embellishments - crystals, beads, gem stone chips, shells or fibers! The wall hanging below used the medium size designs and the finished size without sashing is 29" x 18". The large would be 34" x 21" and the jumbo 41" x 25.5". But you can make your project any size or shape you want!

We used Stonehenge fabrics by Northcott to give this art quilt a textured look. You can totally change the style by using brighter fabrics. Use the templates and fabric patterns provided to make the quilt like our sample or design your own! You can use the outline designs to add fancy quilting. Or stitch them in darker colors to add more detail to the quilt. Full instructions included.
The Jumbo size is 25 x 31 inches, the large is 19.2 x 24 inches and the medium is 16 x 20 inches.(measurements without sashing)

Receiving a box of silk fabric from Sylvia, the lady who sometimes sells silk on my group, gave me the inspiration for this quilt. The colors looked so great together I had to use them! I used the old monochrome Japanese landscape paintings for the general idea and added characters and foliage. You will receive full instructions, patterns and templates to complete your Art Quilt from creating the background to embellishing. I include instructions for novice quilters (no free motion) and how to get more complex for those of you that quilt. Finished size of embroidered section is 16 inches wide x 20 inches high. You can add sashings as narrow or wide as you wish.

This set started because I was trying to find a way to use some of my fancy scraps. You get full instructions with lots of pictures on how to create your own quilt with lots of options. The instructions even include a sleeve on the back for hanging if desired. I wanted an antique look with my golden quilt which has pieces of silk, brocade, even silk velvet. The black and white quilt is all cotton. This is a project to have fun with! The designs don't require *lining up* - just place them where you want. You can also, of course, use the designs on all kinds of projects. You can embellish these quilts as much or as little as you want!
I have never recommended buying the complete set of designs, but if it's possible, I do with this set. I used designs from several sizes in my samples. It is especially good to have all the sizes of the smaller round designs so you have plenty of designs to fill in spaces!

Princess Ka'iulani, heir to the crown of Hawaii, was beautiful, intelligent and determined to save the Kingdom. She died at age 23 after the annexation of Hawaii by the United States and legend says she died of a broken heart. I only found one of her paintings, but when I saw it I knew I had to create something from it.
Though this Art Quilt looks complex, it is quite easy to do - and no quilting skills are needed! You get full instructions with lots of pictures and several templates to put everything together. The designs are stitched onto the background and the leaves and flowers are stitched on organza and applied to the finished background. You can add embellishments if you like of beads, crystals, yarn and fibers. The designs can also be used on many other projects. Perhaps a poppy filled purse!

Many of us admire the highly creative Art Quilts but are inhibited by all the techniques needed - free motion quilting and thread painting, pieced backgrounds and embellishments.
