BFC0180 Lace Bowl & Doily Pink Magnolias
|Featured on the cover of Machine Embroidery Magazine
Pink Magnolias, white lace and rich green leaves - a very romantic combination. This bowl and doily are taken from artwork by Pierre-Joseph Redoute, the most celebrated artist in the history of botanical art. I took the liberty of changing the creamy white magnolia to pink, but I think it would be equally beautiful done in the original cream shades.

How to assemble
Step One: Stitch 6 sides and one bottom on water soluble stabilizer. I used Rayon 40wt thread in both top and bobbin and 2 layers of Badgemaster.
Step Two: Do not rinse before stitching pieces together. First stitch the six sides to the bottom, curving the sides around the circle. Try not to butt the edges too tight between the sides and the bottom so you will get a sharper crease when the bowl is standing. Then starting at the center, zig zag two of the sides together sewing towards the edge, turn your work and stitch back to the center. Repeat for all side seams. Soak bowl according to maufacturers directions and rinse well. Allow to dry. You will find you will not need any stiffening for this bowl or doily.

Note: Use the plain centers and bottoms to create you own doilies. You can make several of the centers or bottoms adding a design in the center and stitch them together where they touch.
