Flowers from the Art Deco period and late Art Nouveau period are very elegant. They are perfect for that special set of linens for the dining room - the leaves on the napkins, a large flower on the place mats, a row of just the lower leaves along the edge of the tablecloth or on the centerpiece.

I love the Art Deco period. I think part of the reason is I love the colors they used. These two options are done in Teal and Gold. I used Gold Metallic to stitch my samples, but it would be just as attractive in a gold colored poly thread. I'm going to use my large design done in Black for a tote bag. I have one of Michael Miller's Fairy frost that is a smoky Teal color. You could also use the pieced version for a tote bag, a picture or the back of a jacket. To give you some ideas, i created some screen shots after my stitched designs - even how you could make a great looking table mat!
IMAGES: Commercial Size stitched on Black Linen, Pieced version stitched on white cotton, Next 3 images show the individual blocks, Pieced on Black with Black borders, Pieced on Black with Teal borders, Pieced on Teal fabric with Teal border and finally the pieced version on white cotton with Teal Borders.
You can purchase the pieced version in 4 different sizes: 4.9, 5.9. 6,9 or 7.9 inches ( measured Across) These make a finished picture, 9.8 x 10.7,11.2 x 12.9, 13.7 x 15. 15.6 x 17.1
The complete commercial size comes in 9.2, 10.2, 11.2 or 12.2 inches.

These designs are designed to be used with Angelina, Organza or fancy fabric. They will be completely free standing when finished. I picture these being used to make wreaths, pictures, brooches or on hairbands or hair combs. Or put one on a handbag to spice up your look! They can be used single, two of them or three for more advanced flowers. You can use any colors of course and also put them together differently.
You can make any of the flowers with only a 4x4 hoop, but I have included a design for the largest piece in case you don't have a hoop it will fit in.
These designs are also perfect for embellishment. I've included some pictures of possibilities. You will get instructions how to make them as shown.
We have a new pack of Angelina Films and they are on sale!

Sometimes less is more! And that is the case with these minatures. The first design can be repeated around a skirt, the legs of pants, curtains or other linens. Then sprinkle the smaller designs to the body of the item. Or skip the borders and just add a small design to a cuff, a collar or sprinkled around a shirt front. Several people wrote about where to find the design I used to advertise the latest sale. I had thought of making it a design eventually, but they encouraged me to start right away!
PLEASE NOTE: I have based the sizes, M, L and J to reflect the size the first design. The remainder of the designs are much smaller. Click on check sizes to see the sizes. Most of the designs other than the first one will fit in a 4x4 hoop.

When I first saw computer images I wasn't sure how I liked them. They were too perfect in many ways. I of course like them now but I’m still drawn to hand drawn art. These flowers have that touch - close but not quite perfect. I've stitched them two ways. They come with color like the second in each picture. To stitch them as black work just skip the first one or two colors. The black is the last to stitch for each one.
The sizes are 4 inches in height, 5 inches in height, 6 inches in height and 7 inches in height.

Graceful designs to use on clothing and home decor. They would be beautiful on non-plush towels, pillows - even as quilt blocks to mix with other designs. I used metallic gold thread for all the designs, but they will be equally pretty using a gold colored thread. And of course, there are all kinds of colors for the leaves! Summer bright greens, multi colors for autumn and dark greens for winter.

I made my bag softer and more *slouchy*. You could also use firm interfacing to make a more structured bag. It has many pockets inside, a pocket on the gusset and a large back pocket. I made my strap long enough to wear across my body, but you can choose any size. The sunflower and butterfly design can of course be used in many projects other than handbags!
The sizes of the finished bag are as follows:
Medium 9.0” wide x 9.5” high x 5” deep
Large 13.5” wide x 11.0” high x 5” deep
Jumbo 15.5” wide x 15.00” high x 5” deep

Most tropical embroidery sets are all flowers, foliage or accent designs. I thought it would be fun to have Tropical set with a little of everything. Any of these will of course go together, but you can make towels or placemats as gifts, a small framed picture. I've included 6 screen shots of possible arrangements. A large arrangement such as these would make a great quilt centerpiece.

There are a lot of ways you can use these designs. Stitch a wreath for a label for the back of a quilt. Stitch a wreath with one or more letters in the middle - they can be used for quilt blocks, towels, pillow cases. Put one on a blouse and add your monogram. I'm sure I'm just touching the surface! It will be fun to see what everyone comes up with.

Watercolor pairs wonderfully with pen and ink detail. The semi-transparent wash of color creates almost another dimension look to the painting. This style is perfect for embroidery. Sheer layers of color represent the wash of color done with watercolors. The outlines in various colors represent the pen and ink detail. Dimension is added with the two techniques, yet by nature the designs are fast stitching without a lot of stitches.
I created a picture by using some of the complete flowers and leaves designs and adding some of the outlined flower and leaves to look like a background. You will find a template to create the picture as I did or make your own arrangement. It’s easy because things don’t have to line up exactly! If you have a space somewhere, just add one of the small outline designs to fill it in. So don’t hesitate to give this a try!! You will also find instructions to make the picture as I did. This could also be a pillow, a bag front, a quilt center – you will find lots of possibilities.
Templates Included: Sizes of Picture (embroidery only): Medium 15.9" x 12.3", Large 18.8" x 14.5", Jumbo 22.2" x 17.1"

The Aztec lily, Sprekelia formosissima is a gorgeous dramatic flower. I like this bouquet because it is providing a backdrop for the Lily rather than fighting it for attention.
I've stitched this on light tan linen, but it can also be stitched on black. Some of the small details in the background will blend in with the background, but it is still very effective. I've done a screen shot of how it would look.

These designs are based on Japanese Woodblocks. Woodblocks always have a sheer watercolor effect and that is why I did these Tulips with Sheer Fills. Your fabric will show through, so be careful what colors you use on certain colors of fabric. Good choices are cream, pale yellow or green, light tan, pale blue. Pastels will work best. But if you want to use a dark fabric, use bright, vivid colors for the embroidery. You can also use these designs with materials like Angelina film or Embroidery Glitter. See the picture before the free design to see one stitched with Angelina film.

Before I started this set I pictured a Country Style Picture – something I could hang in my kitchen or Front Hall. I’m happy at how it turned out, though I had to do some looking for appropriate fabric. LOL This would also be great in a Sun Room.
You can apply the flowers as I did so they are very 3 dimensional, or stitch them down more or even completely for a very different look. To stitch them down completely, I recommend using invisible thread using a zig zag stitch. I used only small designs for my sample, but if you have all the sizes you could make a large bouquet using for example the small pansies and coreopsis, and large versions of the other flowers and leaves. Full instructions included.
NOTE: - this set comes in Small for the 4x4 hoop in addition to Medium and Large.

As I was creating these designs I remembered a potted plant shop I went to many years ago. It had a full glass front and they had glass shelves with the pots of flowers on them. As you drove by it looked like the flowers were floating in the air! I have to admit I went inside many times. I will use this with the Tool Shed set and other sets I will be doing to make a complete Gardening Quilt. Each design has a basting stitch that is a guide for cutting blocks if you want to put them together as I did. Instructions included to make the block as shown.

I've always likeD Alstroemeria when they were in a mixed bouquet, but I didn't really appreciate them until this Valentine's Day when Rick got me an entire bouquet of them. I plan on having Texas Wildflowers II in a couple of weeks. I'm also planning another possible set to the series that will come in small size in addition to medium, large and jumbo and concentrate more on just the flowers. Use for pillows, pictures, a wall hanging, or in a quilt. This Lily and Pansy can be combined with our other Tile sets, QIH - Camellia Tile , QIH - Rose Tile and Iris in the Round x 2 by using the borders from those sets. To make these pictures, I stitched the circles and then fused them to pieces of batik fabric with fusible applique web. I then satin stitched around the edges and framed the pictures. Quilt blocks could also be made this way. The medium size will make a circle 9.7" in diameter, the large 11.6" and the Jumbo 15.6".

I set out to create a bag that allowed us to use different fabrics, had lots of pockets to carry things, had a distinctive look and yet is super easy to put together! You will find this bag has all these features. You can put pockets on both sides in between the outer big pockets and the main bag and of course all you want inside on the lining. I include how to adjust the width of the bag and the strap for either a shoulder bag or a hand carry version. You receive full patterns and instructions with a materials list, yardages and loads of pictures - even fabric layouts! Even though this bag looks a little complex, it is the easiest of all our bags to make.
The medium size, shown below in purple and white is 14 x 10 x 4 inches and the large (the green and white bag) is 15.6 x 11 x 5 inches without the straps. (To the top of the inner bag) Note: The purple flowered bag doesn't yet have it's lining put in or it's final press. I wanted to show the two color options.8 Designs each in 2 sizes MLJ Check Sizes

Nasturtiums are one of my favorite flowers to plant in the garden. They put up with all kinds of abuse - forgetting to water them, sandy soil - and they just keep blooming all summer. I had some this past summer that in spite of me forgetting to care for them started to grow up a neighbors pine tree. I thought they would make great designs to work on in the part of the world that is now experiencing winter. Their bright colors can cheer up any project. In addition to the items shown, they would make nice linens of any kind - table cloths, place mats or table runners. They could also be used in quilts and other pieced projects. The border designs can be combined in many ways to create cheery kitchen curtains or garments.

I drew these designs based on public domain images from old botanical magazines and books. I love the detail in these old Prints II and the variety of flowers you can find in them. The designs are appropriate for quilts and wall hangings and along with their names make great towels. I experimented exchanging gold metallic thread for one of the flower colors and they really became festive! I also think these would make a real statement on a blouse or jacket. You will get a file that will match up the names and designs for you.
PLEASE NOTE FOR 4x4 SIZE: In order to maintain the detail in these flowers, I chose to make the 4x4 size only a portion of the larger designs. You can see these by clicking on *Check Sizes* below. I drew these designs based on public domain images from old botanical magazines and books. I love the detail in these old prints and the variety of flowers you can find in them.
So if you purchase the complete set you will get two versions of each design in addition to the design with the name.18 Designs each in 3 Sizes SML Check Sizes

These designs are all done manually with lines of color. They would be great for metallic threads - perhaps exchanging the black with gold, or keeping the black but using various colors of metallic for the flowers and leaves. They also lend themselves to crystals. You could put some in the centers of the flowers, the butterflies wings or dotted around the background. There are six designs and you get three sizes of each. Please click on *Check sizes* below to see the 4x4 versions. Rather than lose the detail by shrinking these designs, I have chosen the main portion of each to make the smaller size.

I love designs on clothing, but don't always want just one design. I created Shoulder Drapes for a more interesting way to decorate our blouses and jackets. The designs can be put together as shown or cascading more down the back. They are designed to be easy to put together - or they work on their own too! You will receive a template for the layout I used below and instructions on how to create and stitch your own layout.
These designs are a great first multi-hooping project as they are so forgiving! They are complete in themselves, or just line them up by their stems. A little overlap is OK or even a gap would be ok! As you can see from the screen shots below, these can be used in many different ways - I think the pheasant in the circle of flowers would make a great pillow.12 Designs each in 2 Sizes ML Check Sizes

Many of these designs are taken and modified from the Window - Sunflowers and Finches. Rick took my stitch outs and created the wall hanging below. I think he did a great job! We'll have to get him stitching soon :)

These designs are taken from Jane Webb Loudon's acclaimed book, The Ladies' Flower Garden. She was a leading 19th century horticulturist and encouraged Victorian gentlewomen to spend time in their gardens. Her works were done in watercolors and showed extreme detail. I have chosen some flowers that we don't see as often in embroidery. They would make a dramatic statement on clothing and linens, or even in small frames grouped together. I have put the latin name, common name and country of origin below the designs for your information.
PLEASE NOTE: A few of the 4x4 sizes have been modified to fit well within this size hoop. You can see the exact designs in all sizes by clicking on *check sizes* below.12 Designs each in 3 Sizes SML Check Sizes

I wait every spring to see the Goldfinches come to our feeders. Their bright color tells me that warm weather and lots of flowers are on the way. This picture will have more sunflowers and finches in the foreground, a field of sunflowers in the middle and of course the barn and rolling hills in the background. You will receive a satin stitch border design you can use to make these into *finish in the hoop* designs that you can then zig zag together. Or, you can seam them together without adding the border and optionally add bias tape to create a window effect.
The medium size is 15x20 inches, the small is 12x16 and the large 18 x24 inches without borders.

All the names on the designs stitch as separate color stops so you can choose to use them or not. These designs would be perfect for curtains, linens, lined up around a tote, on clothing - just about on any project where you want some color.

The Floral Expression series of design sets will all be a combination of a little bit of reality and a little bit of fantasy. I am creating them with three things in mind: pictures, pillows and quilt blocks. Each set will have two companion sets. One is done in our Window style with full backgrounds and the other set is regular designs taken from the other two sets. This set comes with templates and full instructions for putting the designs together. They have been created in such a way that you will find the seams *just melt together*. Because they are stitched in squares and along with the instructions you will find them very easy to put together. Window - Floral Expressions I and Floral Expressions I - Elements
The small set of designs will make a picture 11.6" x 11.6", the medium set will be 15"x15" and the large, 17.5"x17.5".

I had no idea Plumeria came in so many colors until Tammie sent me some photos! Many Plumeria growers also allowed Tammie to send me some of their photos. It was so hard to decide where to start! If these are popular designs, I will gladly do more of them:) Thank you Tammie!

I created this set with the gift giving season in mind. I wanted a set of sophisticated designs that are easy to stitch and can go on so many different items. Though there is a lot of detail, the number of colors is minimized and there are few if any jumps to trim. These designs are appropriate for clothing, linens, curtains, aprons and totes. Try the ferns in metallic or variegated thread to embellish a scarf or blouse. The ferns would also be great for the corners of a table cloth or along the bottom of an apron or curtains. As you can see below, they will also combine well with the flowers for a more dramatic *statement*. The tall ferns in metallic or bright colors would look good going up the legs of a pair of jeans and add a flower for more pizzazz. The red rose with a fern could be used to make a picture on black velvet for that special spot.

My Yahoo group suggested morning glories and I couldn't resist. They come in so many beautiful colors and their vines allow for so many different configurations. My goal with this set was to provide all the components you need to create sheet, pillowcases, towels, and clothing items with as much or as little embroidery as you desire. I've put some sample layouts below to give you some ideas. (The monogram does not come with the set - it is only for illustrative purposes)

Some of these flowers are done in my watercolor technique. They will make a bold statement on linens or clothing. I can also see a great tote for a gardening friend. Seed Packets -Flowers is a companion set that has the full Seed Packets with these flowers on them.

Every gardener's heart can't help but skip a beat when seed packets first arrive in the stores. We may resist, but we want all of them. :) When I found these images I had to do them - don't you love the prices? This set is very versatile because you can stitch the entire designs as I have for the pillow and the shirt, or skip the white and black backgrounds and use just the flower as I did for the sachet. I think any gardener in your life would like presents made with these designs. Seed Packets Flowers Pack is a companion set that has just the flowers but in larger sizes (with some editing to make them work in the larger size).
