BFC0614 Windows on the World - Russia
The onion domes of Russia are so distinctive that few would not recognize where they are from. St. Basil's Cathedral, built between 1551 and 1561 was commissioned by Ivan the terrible. It is actually separate chapels that are brought together as a cathedral by a large center tower. It is often mistakenly thought of as part of the Kremlin, but though close is totally separate. The interior is quite understated compared to the exterior having many pastel floral decorations. It is a maze of corridors and stairways with so little room for worshippers, special services often have to be held outside.
PLEASE NOTE: This set is done a little differently than our other windows sets. The black fabric is background - not embroidered. Designs 1 and 3 are just outlines you can use to size those blocks. Be sure to read the instructions even if you have done many of our windows.
I can see these designs as appropriate for a quilt or coverlet in addition to wall pictures.
The small window is 12x16, the medium is 15x20 and the large is 18x24. You receive full instructions on various ways of putting your window together.
