BFC1202 Ching Chou's Hummingbird

Not rated yet

Ching Chou has been branching off into other styles and I love them! This beautiful hummingbird has Ching Chou's great colors. The picture is made of 5 designs and you get full instructions for putting it together. The three accent designs can be used on other projects or perhaps a pillow to put close to where you hang the picture. This design would go beautifully with Ching Chou's Barn Owl.

These delightful Tattoos were created from the artwork of Fantasy Artist Ching Chou Kuik. We have signed a licensing agreement so I can create embroidery designs from her work. The artwork of course remains the copyrighted property of Ching Chou Kuik. She gives permission to use these designs on items for sale as long as *artwork from Ching Chou Kuik and design from BFC* is given with the items. You can see Ching Chou’s work at the link to her web site at the bottom of this page.

I sent an email a couple of days ago. You may not have received it. I tried to stitch this out 4 times and the puckering is bad.

1st try - I used Michael Miller Fairy Dust, SF 101 on the back of the fabric, and mesh

2nd try - I used Michael Miller Fairy Dust, 1 layer of Tear/wash away, and 2 layers of cutaway

3rd try - I used a sage Silk Dupioni, fusible mesh, and 2 layers of cutaway. I didn't finish this one because the pink in the flowers washed out with the fabric choice.

4th try - I used white silk dupioni, armo weft, mesh, and 2 layers of cutaway.
    What do you suggest?

I sent you a long email yesterday. :) Suz-- here it is: \
    Hello Velda,
I’m so sorry you had so many problems with this! There are two things I would recommend. I use Medium tear away sticky stabilizer. I get it from World Weidner (they just changed the name to Peel and stick) https://www.worldweidner.com/collections/self-adhesive-stabilizer?_pos=4&_psq=Stabilizer&_ss=e&_v=1.0

The second thing I would recommend is to wrap your hoops if you haven’t already. I can tell from the stitch outs the fabric is definitely slipping the hoop. I use elastic bandage to wrap mine. Very easy! It sticks to itself and also sticks to the fabric but I’ve never had it leave a mark. Holds the fabric very tightly in the hoop.

For fabric I love the look of Dupioni but it is also the easiest to wrinkle – mainly because it slip in the hoop so much. You might try Antique Satin (looks kind of like Dupioni on one side) – I’ve used it on both sides and it’s a very stable fabric that looks good with embroidery.
Don’t hesitate to write with any other questions!

I have a color chart for the Ching Chou hummingbird that lists the colors used but it doesn't list colors for each individual design. Is there a color chart for each design? i bought the design without registering so I can't go back and look at my account.

Hi Debbie, The individual color charts are in the colorchart.zip file that comes with your designs. You had registered an account at one time and I was able to merge this order with that account. You can now login and download the colorchart.zip file for your two purchases.
    Thank you!

Hi, I just purchased the Hummingbird design and was wondering if it came with instructions. Other than the designs I was able to download a color conversion chart but that was all I received. Did I miss something.
    Thank you for your help.

    Hi Susie,
You need to download the BFC1202colorchart.zip file. It has the color charts for the designs and the instructions. It is on your email or if you registered you can also find it in your account.
    Thanks! Suz

I have this design for multi-hooping. Is the hummingbird available as a single file for larger hoops where there is no need to re-hoop?

    Thanks.

    Hi Debra,

No, this set doesn't have a commercial size. You could combine the designs in your software and stitch them all at the same time.

    Thank you - Suz
