BFC1443 Endangered Species Series - Vaquita
The Vaquita is one of 6 species of Porpoise. It is often called the Gulf of California Porpoise. They are various shades of gray and the smallest known cetacean (cetaceans include whales, dolphins and porpoises). They live about 20 years and are very shy and timid. They are hard to spot in the wild. The Vaquita, the world’s most rare marine mammal is on the verge of extinction. More than half the population has been lost in the last three years due to illegal fishing in the Mexico’s part of the Gulf of California. You will also receive the tote bag instructions from the Endangered Species - Sumatran Elephant Set.
