Hi, I’m looking to do larger, split designs. I have downloaded the free design and tutorial and was able to follow instructions. I’m looking to do the steampunk seahorse design which has more ‘parts’ or it. How would I centre the whole design on my fabric. Would there be markers showing the centre point of the finished design? Thanks

Hi Christine - recommend going by the diagram in the instructions and the finished size for design size you will stitch. And for all projects i always recommend adding a couple of inches of fabric all around what you expect to use. sometimes you want a larger area around the design than you think you will, or even though you think you started in the right place the extra fabric prevents this from becoming a disaster.
    Thank you - Suz

    Suz,

Reading the paragraph about stitching the designs, do I understand that you fuse two pieces of quilting cotton together with Stitch Witchery and then place that on top of the stabilizer in the hoop? That's the background or fabric that the embroidery design is actually stitching on?

    Hi MaryAnn,

Yes, I have done that for some designs. I do it if my fabric is rather flimsy and I don't think it will lay flat on the hoop. If it's a firm fabric, that isn't needed. Nut it never hurts! :)

Be sure you stitch the first design on the fabric inside the hoop. Then for the second design you float the fabric on top of the hoop.
Don' hesitate to ask more questions! I'm closing up for the night now, but I will answer tomorrow.
    Suz
