I have always loved these cranes, but wasn't sure where they were from until I started looking last week. I found they are indigenous to Southern Africa and especially South Africa, mainly in the wetlands area. (hence the wetlands design to use as a background for your cranes) So I read a little more and discovered all the gorgeous flowers that grow in South Africa. So many to choose from! One site alone listed over 2000 species. I chose the King Protea because it is the National Flower of South Africa and the Disa Uniflora because we all love orchids, and of course many of us are familiar here with the *African Daisy* (Barberton Daisy). You will also receive a split version of the tall crane so you can make him large as I did on the vest.
These designs are appropriate for clothing. You will receive instructions on how I made the pockets on the vest below and also templates to create the arrangement on the back. They can also be used for pictures, pillows or the centerpiece of a quilt. PLEASE NOTE: For those with large hoops be sure to read the text under the picture below.
