BFC0756 QIH Peacock Paisley Bag
Though paisley designs originate in Persia as vegetable motifs with a twisted tear drop shape, I have always associated them with feathers. Perhaps it is their graceful shape, or the often feather like embellishments around the edges. This bag displays both. I have done the feathers in metallic thread to make them stand out. The paisley designs would lend themselves to metallic thread too. I stitched the purse on suede cloth with quite a bit of nap.
Some other color combinations could be fall colors on a chocolate brown background, pastel shades on white faux leather or do them as tone on tone with several shades of the same colors.
This is a more constructed purse than my other bags to date: zippered pocket in lining, interfaced throughout bag and lining, padded straps and various types of pockets in and out. All of my bags are my own design and I am finding I like to design handbags! I used BFC metallic thread on this purse
The medium bag is 13.6x10.3x5 inches and the large is 16x12x6 inches.

How much fabric do each of the designs require, including lining fabric requirements?Dec 19, 2022, 02:22 PM
HI Rosalee - you have to do some figuring to see how much fabric you need. There are oads of different hoop sizes so you need to see how many hoopings and then multiply by the size of the fabric for each one. You get patterns for linings, etc.
Thank you - Suz

Hi Aly LOL you and me both! I never know what is the *right* way. for this bag I made the longer number the width and the shorter one the height.

Are there instructions and patterns for the construction of the purse? Did I miss them?
Thank you.Jan 4, 2019, 04:31 PM
Hi Virginia, You need to download the colorchart.zip file in addition to your designs. That has the color charts and all and any instructions. The link is on your delivery email and also in your account.
