BFC1243 Waratah Rose Window

Not rated yet

This design is based on a Rose window from St. Bede's Church in New South Wales, Australia.   The flowers are the red Waratah, emblem of the state of New South Wales, white Flannel Flowers, red and gold Christmas Bells and golden Wattle. You can stitch these as regular designs or as Quilt in the Hoop designs. There are full instructions for both methods and also for assembling and finishing your Window. You can use the window for a wall hanging, a pillow, or as I'm going to do, a table mat for the center of my kitchen table.

How are edges finished to make a wall hanging? I would not be able to use regular binding methods.

A very easy was to finish the Waratah Rose is to stitch the designs the option for the satin stitch border. After sewing the designs together, press well from the back and using fusible pellon ) or other stiff stablizer , cut a piece just a little smaller than your stitched together designs and fuse this to the back to give it stability. You can stop here as it won't show when hung or fuse a piece of black fabric over the stabilizer. Suz
