BFC0292 Vintage Locomotives
William B. Butler started with the RF&P Railroad in 1940 and retired in 1974. He has generously allowed me to digitize some of the photos he took and collected during those years. The Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac Railroad started in 1824 and ran until the CSX took it over in 1974. When the RF&P switched to diesels in the early 1950's, William was the third man on the RF&P to make the switch from steam to diesel. His daughter, Anne Phillips, has been great at helping me develop this set. William is counting on her to embroider these trains on his shirts :) You can see *Pop* Butler down below - doesn't he look like an authentic railroad man?

On the Vintage Steam Engines there is a logo on the side of one. My FIL was an engineer and I would love to put the RR name on the side instead of what is there. Is the current name/logo stitched on top or is it blank under which would not make it possible to put another name/logo on top. Hope I am making sense...
Aug 25, 2021, 11:53 AMHi Sherry - I assume you mean the fourth train with the white writing on the back secttion? The white stitches last, so it's not a problem just stopping before the last color stop. Underneath it is a solid gray so you could stitch anything you wanted there. If I don't have the right train, just write back! Suz
