BFC1174 South African Architectural Etchings

Score: 5.00 (votes: 3)

These Etchings are in The Old Mutual Building (now turned residential) in Cape Town, South Africa. Attributed to Ivan Mitford-Barberton, they depict indigenous animals and plants. As you can see they adorn the elevator doors which are edged with black marble. They would make an elegant wall hanging edged in black and white fabrics. Or use them for a tote or handbag!

I have quite a number of your beautiful designs, but these are my very favorite. They stitched out beautifully. I put them together with just a narrow black trim and keep nagging my husband to get them framed.
I have been a life-long cross-stitcher and have done some wonderful pieces of lions, tigers, etc. I can't do the close handwork anymore, so machine embroidery is my new passion. And these designs are absolutely wonderful!!!
